Our story

Fund Recs was founded in 2013 when the company founders were approached by a large bank to develop a new reconciliation platform for it's Fund Administration unit. With over 25 years operational and technology experience between them the team are building a platform to transform how data is managed, processed and leveraged by the Funds Industry.

Fund Recs recently launched VELOCITY platform for Fund Administrators empowers Administrators to process valuations faster and with increased oversight. In 2019 Fund Recs launched FUSION to give users back control of their data with an easy to use no-code solution.

Taking the latest technology and approaches from the best loved consumer software applications, the Fund Recs team are combining consumer user experience and interfaces with enterprise accuracy, security and availability.

The team at Fund Recs believes that the software we use in day-to-day business activities should be as well designed and easy to use as the consumer applications we enjoy every day in our personal life.

By combining ease of use with powerful processing, flexible data import and key Industry knowledge we have set out on our mission towards developing the most efficient, powerful and cost effective reconciliation and data transformation software available.

Meet the Team

Padraig O'Scanaill

CTO & co-founder

Padraig has over 8 years experience as a Software Engineer and Web Developer. Padraig has a BSc, (Hons) Information Technology & Telecommunications from the University of Limerick and obtained a postgraduate diploma in Computing and Web Application Development through the Graduate Initial Fidelity Training (GIFT*) program at Fidelity Ireland.

Padraig's past roles have included Software Engineer at Cashbooks Limited and as a Java and Oracle Developer at Fidelity Investments.

Paddy Murphy

Software Engineer

Paddy is currently studying for a Higher Diploma in Computer Science at Waterford Institute of Technology. With a BSc. in Project & Construction Management and a MSc. in Quantity Surveying (Sustainable Public Building), Paddy's career began in the Construction industry.

Moving from construction management into software engineering, Paddy brings with him a flexible approach to problem-solving, an awareness of detail and an honest and diligent attitude to work.

Claire Hennebry

Software Engineer

Claire completed the Higher Diploma in Computer Science at Waterford Institute of Technology in 2015. Claire has also completed Bachelor of Arts (BA), History and Politics in UCC and the Master of Arts (MA), International Security and Conflict Studies at DCU.

Claire has shown herself adept at taking business requirements and creating high performing, well designed web applications.

Aine de Leastar

Software Engineer

Aine graduated from the Higher Diploma in Computer Science at Waterford Institute of Technology. Aine completed a Bachelor's Degree, Social Sciences: Social Policy & Sociology and Diploma in Diploma, Drugs Counselling, Theory, and Intervention Skills at UCD Dublin.

Aines involved in the full product life cycle and is an integral member of the Fund Recs quiz team.

Alan Meaney

CEO & co-founder

Alan brings over 10 years experience in the Fund Administration Industry and studied Business Information Studies at Dublin Institute of Technology.

He has taken the insights and pain of doing manual reconciliation's over the years and used his technical knowledge to produce the Fund Recs solution. Alan started his Funds Industry career at HSBC and more recently was Fund Accounting Supervisor at SEI Investments.

Ciaran Walshe


Ciaran brings over 6 years' experience in the Fund Administration Industry. Ciaran studied a Bachelor of Arts in Economics & Law in NUI Galway and a Masters of Economics in UWE Bristol.

Ciaran started his Funds Industry career at IFS (State Street), then moved to SEI Investments where he was a Fund Accounting Supervisor and more recently worked in an Investment Operations role with Mercer Global Investments. In these roles Ciaran has worked on numerous projects focusing on efficiencies and automation of manual processes.

Des O'Donohoe

Managing Director & co-founder

Des has nearly 20 years' experience working in Fund Administration with SEI Investments and Bisys Fund Services and is a fully qualified member of the Project Management Institute.

Zohaib Jabbar

Technical Lead

Zohaib has 5 years’ experience working on diverse Software Engineering Projects. Over his career, he has developed Enterprise Software Systems for banks and has also worked on some interesting research projects. He loves to read psychology books in his free time.

Brian Lehane

Head of Operations

Brian has worked in the Financial Services Industry for 8 years, most recently as a Fund Accounting Supervisor at SEI Investments. It was during this role that Brian expanded his solutions knowledge and took a keen interest in the automation of the many manual processes carried out by Fund Accountants. Brian holds a BSc in Accountancy from University College Cork.

Michael Foy

Software Engineer

Michael graduated from the Higher Diploma in Computer Science at Waterford Institute of Technology. He has also completed a Bachelors Degree in Fine Art at C.I.T. and a Diploma in English Teaching from Cambridge University. Michael is involved in development throughout the stack and is particularly keen on clean, intuitive design.

Simon Gillis

Senior Operations Manager

Simon brings over 11 years’ experience in the Funds industry after graduating from the Institute of Technology Tallaght (TU Dublin) with a first-class honours degree in Business Studies (Accounting). His career started out with BNY Mellon in 2006 followed by a move to Link Asset Services in 2009. Simon spent nearly 10 years at Link in a variety of roles within Fund Accounting, most recently being Manager of the Fund Accounting Support Services department where he led numerous projects to introduce efficiencies and automate manual processes. Simon completed a Diploma in Investment Fund services with the Institute of Banking in 2012.
